Your WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT, DELTA ROMEO CHARLIE?! of the Day

Our house is a very very very fine house but it is situated on a street that is not so much “street” as “hardened lava flow”. Your abs get a workout just riding in cars down the road as you struggle to balance upright and your seatbelt cuts into your clavicle with every jerk.

Bounce! Ouch! Bounce bounce bounce! Jerk! Ah!

Now, imagine that you are a member of the government, and you are sitting around pondering how to make this road a better road. What would you come up with?

Maybe paving it? No, too expensive.

Okay, how about smoothing in the holes? Too time consuming?

Okay, okay. How about...?

Can’t you just picture the panel that sat around, discussed, debated, and concluded that speedbumps were necessary?

...

I'm totally not even joking.

Anyway, to answer your question... er, yeah, I'm being a bit disingenuous... the top photo isn't taken by the Linda, while the bottom ones are... but the point still stands. Road bumps?! SERIOUSLY?!?!?!

sorry the aim wasn't to contradict you but to say that in one year roads have become a bit better, off course if one is modest enough to call them roads. It was just a comparison with what it was a few months back.Off course it baffled me also, the need for speed breakers?they are needed on the road in front of doga where the vehicles zip past at breakneck speeds.I was referring to Linda hotel.by the way do you have any link to your collection of photographs of congo?

Hahaha, no, you are correct -- the road by the lake HAS gotten better... but still!!! Not THAT much better.

I don't have any collection of photos anywhere... maybe when I leave I will put some up somewhere... I just kind of toss them up on here sometimes, and other times leave them to clog up my computer's hard drive...
